O'PR (O'Piney Ridge) Akitas believes in the majestic beauty, character and future of our breed. We have dedicated our lives for the past fifteen years to preserving the type, size, substance and soundness in our Akitas while improving temperaments.
The top priority at O'PR Akitas is a stable, gentle dependable temperament, enabling any one of our Akitas to be a trusted companion above all else. Our Akitas are not aggressive, do not fence fight, and are not aggressive when meeting a friendly dog. No dog is truly a superior specimen of any breed, regardless of show wins, unless it has a temperament above reproach.
We have produced, owned or co-owned over 135 champions in fourteen years. We are extremely proud to the the #1 Breeder of Champions for 1996, a year that also earned a dog we bred and co-own two owner-handled Best In Shows!! In 1999 our female Cassie broke every record in the breeds history for Bitches and was #1 all systems! Also #3 dog ALL BREEDS! We also had the #8, #9 and #10 Akitas! As of 2/29/00 we co-bred the #1, #5, #6 Akitas in Breed Stats, #8 All Breeds, and bred the parents of the #3 Akita. We are also the "grandparents" of the 1997 National Specialty Winners Dog/Best of Winners.
Our primary concern, however, is finding permanent, loving homes for our puppies. Each champion earned is "icing on the cake".
At O'PR we breed only one or two litters a year. Each litter is carefully planned, whelped, nurtured and socialized. We may also have a select few puppies available from co-owners and friends that have the same commitment to this breed as we have.
Our puppies are guaranteed to be healthy. They are raised in our home with small children and are introduced to all types of animals and people. At O'PR, we breed only the BEST in an effort to produce even BETTER! |
